Finally, it’s official! While Etimes reported some days back about rapper-composer Badshah backing Punjabi project Do Dooni Panj, to be directed by filmmaker Harry Bhatti, the production house on Friday unveiled its poster, confirming our story. The film will see actor Amrit Maan again pairing with Bhatti, even as their first film awaits release. The poster, in a catchy green backdrop, is a mix of various study related material/tools, showing pencil, mathematical problems and numbers. All these hint at importance of education. We had reported that film’s main highlight is importance of education in society, but it’s a take on judicial system and berozgaari. Bhatti had told us, “The film addresses our judicial system and unemployment.”
With Do Dooni Panj being Badshah’s second Punjabi project after Ardaas, it’s going to be different. As per the filmmakers, the shooting of the film will start in the second week of September and will be shot in Punjab and Chandigarh. Badshah said, “I feel making a film is a matter of great responsibility because these days audience is so smart that you have to justify each aspect of this process.”
While lead guy Amrit Maan is elated working for the first time with Badshah, he’s super excited about collaborating with Bhatti once again. Bhatti claimed, “This film will change the scenario of cinema in Punjab.”
